Written to be accurate about how the software actually works, not to be vague.

Who we are

KLØDD is made and operated by Marcus Ong — a Swedish enskild firma (sole trader), which means the business has no separate legal personality and your agreement is with that person directly. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Marcus Ong, and “you” means the person or organisation using KLØDD. By installing or using KLØDD you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use it.

What KLØDD is

KLØDD is a remote control for AI coding agents that run on hardware you control. It consists of the kotg command-line tool and daemon, a desktop application, phone applications for iOS and Android, and a hosted relay that carries messages between them.

KLØDD does not run agents, does not execute your code and does not perform language model inference. Those things happen on your own machine, using an agent and a model provider you choose. This is a design decision, not a temporary limitation, and it shapes most of what follows.

Your account

Using the hosted relay requires an account. You sign in with an email address and password, with Apple, or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for anything done through it.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 16. One human may hold one account; sharing a single account across a team is what Team seats are for.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the phone app. Deleting it ends these terms as between us, except for the provisions that by their nature survive.

Acceptable use

Do not use KLØDD to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else do so;
  • access a computer, repository or account you are not authorised to access — including by pairing a host you do not control;
  • attack, overload or circumvent the relay, the token service or the usage limits, including by creating accounts to evade an allowance;
  • resell or sublicense access to the hosted relay as a service of your own;
  • transmit material you have no right to transmit, or use the relay to distribute malware.

We may suspend an account that is doing one of these things. Where the problem is a mistake rather than abuse, we will tell you what it is first.

Your machine is yours to control

An AI coding agent runs commands and changes files. KLØDD gives you a permission prompt on your phone before an agent runs something that needs approval, and it lets you set an auto-approve policy per session. If you turn auto-approve on, you are choosing to let the agent proceed without asking. What the agent then does on your machine is your responsibility, not ours.

Keep backups and use version control. We do not have a copy of your work and cannot restore it.

LLM providers and your own keys

You bring your own credentials for whichever model provider you use. Your relationship with that provider is directly with them, under their terms, and they bill you directly. We do not proxy inference, do not resell tokens and take no cut.

This also means we cannot control or warrant what a model produces. Review what an agent writes before you ship it.

Plans, billing and who takes the money

The current prices are on the pricing page. Everything that runs on your own machine is on the free tier and stays there; paid plans buy capacity on the hosted relay.

Checkout is not open at the time of writing. When it opens: Paddle.com Market Ltd will act as the merchant of record for purchases made on macOS and on this website, which means your contract of sale for those purchases is with Paddle and Paddle’s terms apply to the transaction. Purchases made inside the iPhone or Android app are sold by Apple or Google under their terms.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change; if we raise the price of a plan you hold, we will tell you before it applies to you and you may cancel instead. Refunds are covered by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

Availability and changes

We aim for the relay to be available and reliable, but we do not offer a service level guarantee, and it depends on third parties — notably the transport provider and the authentication provider — whose availability we do not control.

KLØDD is under active development. Features may change or be withdrawn. If we remove something you are paying for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period. Because agent execution is local, an outage of our hosted parts stops the phone from seeing a session; it does not stop the agent on your machine.

Intellectual property

We own KLØDD and everything in it, apart from third-party components under their own licences. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it while these terms are in force. You may not reverse engineer it to build a competing service, remove our notices, or redistribute it as your own.

Your code, your prompts and your agents’ output are yours. We claim no licence over them — and, as the privacy policy sets out, we do not store them.

Disclaimers

KLØDD is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We do not warrant that KLØDD will be uninterrupted or error-free, that an agent will behave correctly, or that a model’s output will be accurate, safe or suitable for your purpose.

Nothing here excludes a right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost work, arising out of your use of KLØDD.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. If you are on the free tier, that figure is USD 50.

This limit does not apply to liability we cannot lawfully limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using KLØDD at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if continuing would create a security risk. Where the circumstances allow it we will give notice and a chance to put it right.

On termination your licence ends. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and the courts of Sweden have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live and rely on the consumer protections available there.
