Written to be accurate about how the software actually works, not to be vague.

The short version

If you paid us for something and it did not do what you expected, write to us within 14 days and we will refund it. We would rather give the money back than argue about it.

The one thing we cannot do is refund a purchase we never took. Purchases made inside the iPhone or Android apps are taken by Apple and Google, and only they can reverse them — the route for those is below.

There is nothing to refund on the free tier

Everything that runs on your own machine is free and always will be. You do not need a card to install KLØDD, run agents locally, use encryption or use hands-free voice. If you are on the free tier, there is nothing to cancel and nothing to claim back.

Purchases on macOS and the web

For purchases made on macOS or through this website, Paddle.com Market Ltd will be the merchant of record. Paddle will take the payment, issue the invoice, and appear on your statement.

Our policy for these purchases is a full refund within 14 days of the charge, for any reason, without your having to justify it. Ask us or ask Paddle; either works, and we will not send you back and forth.

After 14 days, a subscription can be cancelled at any time and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate a part-used month by default — but if you cancelled because something was broken, or because we removed a feature you were paying for, tell us and we will refund the unused part.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you also have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days. Nothing here reduces it. Note that this policy is deliberately at least as generous as that right, so in practice you will not need to invoke it.

Checkout is not open at the time of writing, so no purchase of this kind exists yet. This policy is published in advance because it is a condition of opening checkout at all, and because a refund policy written after the first refund request is not a policy.

Purchases through the App Store or Google Play

A subscription bought inside the iPhone or Android app is sold by Apple or Google, not by us. We can see that your account holds it, but we cannot charge or refund it.

  • Apple: request a refund through Apple’s own “Report a Problem” page, or from your purchase history in Settings. Apple applies its own policy and its own time limits.
  • Google Play: request a refund from your Google Play order history. Google applies its own policy; refunds within 48 hours of purchase are usually automatic.

If a store declines a refund you believe you should have had, write to us anyway. We cannot reverse their decision, but where the fault was ours we will find another way to put it right.

How to ask for a refund

Email support@klodd.app from the address on your account, and tell us which purchase you mean. You do not need to give a reason. We aim to reply within two business days and to process an approved refund within five.

Refunds go back to the payment method that was charged. How long it then takes to appear is up to your bank or card issuer, not us.

Team seats

Team plans are billed per seat. Removing a seat stops it being billed from the next period; we do not refund the remainder of the current period for a seat you removed early. Adding a seat mid-period is charged from the point you add it.

The 14-day rule above applies to a team’s first purchase in the same way it applies to anyone else’s.

Chargebacks

Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee and costs you time, and we will almost certainly just refund you. Where an account is used to make purchases and then charge them back repeatedly, we may suspend it — see the terms.
